As DWITE is closed for the foreseeable future, I would like to recommend the DMOJ modern contest platform. They recently added all of the old DWITE problems (150 in all) and look like a great way to practice for and host your own programming contests.

The DWITE Website has Moved by Dan

Please note that the DWITE website and archive of past contests problems, submissions and results has moved to http://dwite.org.

Unfortunately we lost control of the old domain and someone has taken advantage of the situation by setting up a fake site at the old URL. As we do not fully know the intentions of this person, we recommended not visiting the old site and removing or updating any links to the old URL on your own websites. We believe that no private information about DWITE users were leaked in this incident, but please note that we no longer control any e-mail addresses using the old domain. Links to the old URL on this site should automatically be converted to using the new domain (please report any links we missed to dan@compsci.ca).

The DWITE programming contest remains closed until further notice (as it has been since 2013).

End of Round 5 by amleshjk

I hope you all enjoyed our last round for a while. Unfortunately there was an error in one of the test cases for #4, making the maximum possible achievable mark a 4/5. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Apart from that this round seems to have run smoothly. We'll most likely have summaries of the solutions to the problems up CompSci.ca sometime in the next couple of days, so keep an eye out for that.

Today is the last round of the 2012-2013 DWITE contest. We have over 243 teams singed up to take this round from just over 60 schools across Canada.

Round Cancellation by Dan
Monday December 10, 2012 At 06:53AM
Unfortunately due to a combination of factors the December and January DWITE rounds are canceled. The last round of the school year (scheduled for February 20th, 2013) will still be held.

The decision to cancel the upcoming rounds is mainly a result of scheduling issues leaving the DWITE staff with little free time to run the contest or create new questions for the round. Additionally, recent union action in Ontario would limit the ability of teachers in the province to supervise students in the December round.

In the meantime we encourage students to explore other programming contest resources, including Project Euler.

Round 2 and Creative Commons by Dan

Today is the second round of the 2012-2013 DWITE contest. We have over 260 teams singed up to take this round from 67 schools.

Additionally as we have been getting inquiries about reusing DWITE questions, so we have decided to place all of the DWITE questions since September 2007 under the CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 Creative Commons license. This means you can reuse the DWITE questions and testcases for what ever you like (including running your own contest) so long as it is noncommercial, you also share any changes you make to the questions under a similar license and you attribute the original questions to DWITE.
